Default Remove "Demoted By" after name of ex officers

I just noticed that my ex officers have a Demoted By title on their names if you mouse over them in the guild roster. I'm pretty sure that I checked this with my secondary account which does not have an officer title and I can still see this. I was hoping that only the guild leader or officers could see this but it appears that all users can.

I think it should be removed. Even if the reasons weren't bad, it raises questions with other members why some of them were demoted by me. If they removed the status of who left the guild because it causes low morale, this should be removed for the same reasons, I would think.

i don't want a former officer to be reminded everytime he looks to the guild roster and such not that he is a former officer and i don't want new members asking why that person was demoted or something else related to that.

Well in my guild someone was demoted because he shared the account with his brother or something close to that. People also get demoted if they cannot fulfill the time obligations or duties anymore but are still contributing members. So yes, I agree with the suggestion.

Besides if they got demoted it wasn't like they did something horrible. If they did something horrible they would get kicked (at least in my guild).

Usually being officer is a position of responsibility, unless you have an idiot guild leader who invites people and makes them officer to recruit or impress players with their uber titles to lure people in.

See, this is why I don't like that title on them. Some of my officers were not demoted for being a dunce. Some were simply not able to put in enough time as an officer because of a lifestyle change. I don't want guild members who don't know them to make that assumption that you made.

I have to agree with Teenchi on this one. Former officers in my guild are now just members because they have other real life obligations that take up much of their time right now. We even have a former officer in Germany on a mission trip for a year, and it seems unfair to show that he was "demoted" because of his lack of ability to hold the position, when in reality it is because he will be gone. Take off the the demoted title, nothing good comes of it.

Why not just...I dont know...Leave him as an officer then?

"But Former, Having an Inactive officer is a bad look for the guild!"

Who knows who is and who isnt an officer in a guild...The members. and I'm sure if you are so worried about his real life obligations, your guild members will understand them too - or just deal with it..

I was demoted from Guild Leader because I didn't play for a spell... But now I'm back on top! But the shame... the shame still lingers.
